Directed by Mark Spina
The Theater Projects NJ – 2004A spoof on the old penny dreadful/ gothic horror genre; where two men play multiple characters [men, women, monsters…].
Set in a Victorian drawing room out on the English moor and in an Egyptian tomb/theme restaurant [the latter done with an ‘in one’ via a curtain built into the Egyptian proscenium].
The bookshelf opens; the portrait bleeds and falls open to reveal someone from behind. Wall panels slide to uncover secret passages and a prison cell. The sarcophagus is open backed and placed against a secret opening to allow for an actor to disappear into it and later re-appear.
